"Faereal" was set up just over 6 years ago as a name to a "MUD" (Multi User Dungeon / Domain) for text base roll playing. Faereal was a world vast in size, based in fantasy times, with many different cities and town, travellers and of course the "gods" of the game. Over time the game dissapeared from this world as people lost interest in the game and the developers moved on to other vices and projects. However the name moved on from the game into something a lot bigger and wider!
Soon afterwards we moved onto a different range of services, ranging from IRC and Webmail, and a small community gaming website. Interest grew slightly in the idea of the Faereal Network and we moved around and new websites were created and ideas were thought up. Including the new "Faereal Gaming Universe", a short lived idea which meant that our friends were able to talk about games, be part of games, online and offline and talk between themseves on the forums.
Faereal LTD was then set up as a Limited Company within the United Kingdom, registered with Companies House. This allowed us to expand even more, to include more services and be able to run events smoothly, plus the ability to import arcade equipment and other such computer devices, of which will be made clearer later on.
Soon enough The Faereal Network started on its current most successful project, "DDRuk". An idea thought up by a group of us which were at our local arcade, and made a comment on how there happened to be no UK fan website for the "Dancing Stage" craze. DDRuk exploded on the internet, and is now internationally known and the largest UK fan website dedicated to rhythm action games! Spotting just over 5 million hits and over 100,000 members!
From this point The Faereal Network expanded even more, we now host websites like "Auchinawa", Anime Convention being held up in Scotland which DDRuk are special guests for, and running the games room at this convention. Also helping to run such websites as UKfur.org, and host such websites as bantumusic.co.uk and many many more. There are more projects lined up so keep your eye out and we shall announce them over the up and coming months!
